A full breakdown of Jeremy Swayman's 8-year contract extension he signed today with the Boston Bruins.

Finally the drama between the Boston Bruins, and Jeremy Swayman was settled today after the Boston Bruins announced that Jeremy Swayman has agreed to an 8-year $8.25 million contract.

The $66 million deal that Jeremy Swayman signed has many interesting details that haven't been confirmed by the Boston bruins yet.

The first part of Jeremy Swayman's contract is going to be heavily loaded, meaning the Bruins are going to be paying Swayman a big chunk of his contract in the early years. This is going to make it easier for the Bruins to move him down the line if they need too.

Here is a full yearly breakdown of the contract:

Year 1: $6 million in salary and an additional signing bonus of $4 million.
Year 2: $6 million in salary and an additional signing bonus of $4 million.
Year 3: $5.5 million in salary and an additional signing bonus of $2 million.
Year 4: $4.5 million in salary and an additional signing bonus of $3 million.
Year 5: $5.5 million in salary and an additional signing bonus of $2.5 million.
Year 6: $5.5 million in salary and an additional signing bonus of $2.5 million.
Year 7: $5 million in salary and an additional $2.5 million in signing bonus.
Year 8: $4.5 million in salary and an additional signing bonus of $2.5 million.

A big chunk of his contract is going to be paid out in signing bonuses.

To begin his new contract, he will not have a no trade-clause for the first two years, meaning they can trade him at any point if they wanted too. After the first two years, his contract completely changes.

Years 3-6 will have a full no movement clause, meaning he can block any trade, and he can also block the Boston Bruins from sending him to the Providence Bruins in the AHL.

The 7th year will have a 10 team trade list, meaning these are teams he would accept a trade from, while being able to block a trade to any other team.

The 8th year of his contract, being the final year of it, his protection will now be a 10 team no trade list, allowing him to be traded to any team other then 10 he chooses.

The biggest part of this deal, is that the Boston Bruins actually get their starting goaltender for the regular season, when it seemed like things were going to take way longer, and a deal wasn't going to get done until closer to the December 1st deadline.
