During a recent interview with RDS, Marc-Andre Fleury shared an update on his playing future, suggesting that the upcoming 2023-24 NHL season might be his last in the league.
While attending a charity golf event in Quebec, Fleury expressed his admiration for the Minnesota Wild, praising the team's strong bond and competitive nature. The 38-year-old goalie, who comes from Sorel, Quebec, has had an incredible career and has achieved impressive stats, ranking third in all-time wins and 12th in shutouts.
"I really enjoy being in Minnesota. The team is great, and we have a chance to win games every night, which is important. It might also be my final year. I'll try to make the most of it,"
revealed Fleury during the Beauchemin-Fleury-Beauvillier-Aubé-Kubel Golf Classic, held at the Les Dunes club in Sorel-Tracy on Friday.
With three Stanley Cup championships and various awards, including a Vezina Trophy, Fleury's entry into the Hockey Hall of Fame seems highly likely, potentially as a first-ballot inductee in 2027 if he decides to retire next spring.
