Valeri Nichushkin could be getting his contract terminated by the Colorado Avalanche after getting a 6 month suspension by the NHL.
This is the second year in a row that the Avalanches forward Nichushkin has failed a drug test in the playoffs, putting his team at a disadvantage and forcing him to go back into the NHL assistance program with a minimum 6 month suspension.
Today it was reported that Nichushkin has signed a new contract that will allow him to play in the MHL in Russia. With him signing this contract it might terminate his current one with the NHL regardless of the suspension he is currently on.
#GoAvsGo Valeri Nichushkin will take part in the second season of the Media Hockey League.
This was reported by TASS with reference to the president of the organization Nikolai Osipov. The league's second season will begin on July 6 and end on August 31.
