Surprising Player Enters The Players Assistance Program
Columbus Blue Jackets star Patrick Laine will be sidelined indefinitely as he seeks assistance from the NHLPA Player Assistance Program, according to recent announcements.
The Blue Jackets' GM, Jarmo Kekalainen, emphasized their unwavering support for Laine's well-being, opting not to comment further out of respect.
Laine's absence extends back to December when he suffered a clavicle fracture, marking a challenging season with various injuries and healthy scratches.
In his fourth year with the Blue Jackets and second under his 2022 contract, Laine's playing time in 2023-2024 has been limited to 18 games, yielding 6 goals and 3 assists.
This situation underscores the reality that professional athletes, despite their superhuman appearances, are regular individuals who may require assistance.
The NHLPA Player Assistance Program is designed to offer crucial support to players facing challenges. Our best wishes go out to Laine for a swift recovery.
