Boston Player Gets Hit With A Historic Suspension
Taylor Wenczkowski's mark in women's hockey will be etched in history, albeit not in the way she might have desired.
The Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL) made a historic announcement on Saturday, revealing the league's inaugural suspension. Boston's Wenczkowski has the dubious distinction of being the first player suspended in PWHL history, a consequence of a high hit on Ottawa's Amanda Boulier.
This suspension mirrors the disciplinary actions seen in the National Hockey League for similar hits. While Wenczkowski holds the unfortunate honor of being the first, it appears likely that she won't be the last.
The incident leading to this unprecedented PWHL suspension can be witnessed here.
