It was just reported that Edmonton Oilers starting goaltender Stuart Skinner has made a shocking career move and fired his agent roughly a month after being eliminated from game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals.
Although a lot of people questioned if Stuart Skinner was the right person for the job, he proved a lot of people wrong, even if that was just because of the Edmonton Oilers elite offense, Skinner still helped the Oilers reach the Cup Final and helped them come back from a 3-0 series and force a game 7.
It seems that the Oilers will be running back the same goaltending tandem next year with Stuart Skinner being the started and Calvin Pickard serving as the backup.
Stuart Skinner made a shocking change in the off-season and it was just announced that he and his former agent J.P. Barry have parted ways, and will now be represented by Ray Petkau, who is also the agent of many NHL players including Connor Hellebuyck, Laurent Brossoit, and James Reimer.
It was announced by Petkau this morning on social media:
Skinner isn't due for a new contract for another two years as he still has a contract worth $2.6 million per season, but he felt it was best to make the change now.
