Player Left Bloody After Taking Ovechkins Shot To The Face
During Wednesday night's game against the Washington Capitals, Artem Zub of the Ottawa Senators was having an impressive performance until an unexpected incident occurred in the third period.
While trying to defend against the Capitals' attack, Zub positioned himself in front of Alex Ovechkin, hoping to block his shot. Unfortunately, the puck deflected off Zub's head, causing a significant impact, particularly on his left ear. The defenseman remained on the ice for an extended period, with blood visible from his head and ear.
Zub required assistance to leave the ice, and Ovechkin displayed commendable sportsmanship by offering well wishes and helping Zub to his feet.
Given the severity of the injury, it's unlikely that the Russian defenseman will return to the game, despite having already contributed with a goal. Our thoughts are with Zub for a swift recovery.
