Speculation Rises After Another Player Taking Indefinite Leave From Team
Philadelphia Flyers GM Daniel Briere made an announcement revealing that goaltender Carter Hart has taken a leave of absence for personal reasons, with no specified return timeline.
Per Philadelphia Flyers General Manager, Daniel Briere:
"Carter Hart has requested and been granted an indefinite leave of absence citing personal reasons. The club will have no further comment at this time."
Hart, 25, started the season with 12 wins in 26 games, maintaining a 2.80 goals-against average and a .906 save percentage.
The season was anticipated as a crucial juncture for Hart's career, with his contract set to expire in 2024. Observers hoped for improvements in key metrics, indicating his development into a reliable goaltender.
Despite the statistical expectations, this season hasn't shown a significant upswing in Hart's performance. The reasons for his leave remain speculative, potentially linked to the pressures faced by the goaltender.
