Tragic News Hits The Pittsburgh Penguins Organization
Beloved Pittsburgh broadcaster Stan Savran, known for his radio and television career, including working as an analyst for the Pittsburgh Penguins on the AT&T Sports Network, has passed away.
He was highly regarded for delivering memorable announcements and was respected as a professional in his field. Savran hosted pre and post-game shows for both the NHL's Penguins and MLB's Pirates on ATTSN, earning recognition in the Western Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame.
Sadly, he lost his battle with lung cancer on June 12th, 2023. His passing has left a profound impact on the sports community in Pittsburgh, with figures like Steelers President Art Rooney II and Sidney Crosby expressing their condolences. Savran will be deeply missed by fans.
