It is with heavy hearts that the hockey world mourns the loss of former NHL goaltender, Dunc Wilson, who passed away at the age of 75 in Utila, Honduras, where he had resided for many years.

Dunc Wilson holds a special place in the history of the Vancouver Canucks, having recorded their first-ever shutout in NHL history. His contributions to the game were celebrated, and his passing is a significant loss to the hockey community.

Throughout his impressive 10-year NHL career, Wilson donned the jerseys of several teams, including the Canucks, the Leafs, the Rangers, the Penguins, and even a single appearance with the Flyers. Over the course of his career, he participated in 287 games, leaving a lasting legacy.

Notably, during his time with the Leafs, Wilson achieved a .889 save percentage, a 3.31 goals-against average, and secured one shutout. It's worth mentioning that Wilson hailed from Toronto, adding a hometown connection to his remarkable career.

Wilson's standout season occurred with the Penguins in 1976-77, where he earned a spot on the all-star team and showcased his skills with five shutouts. That season, he also boasted a .906 save percentage and a 2.95 goals-against average, further solidifying his reputation as a talented goaltender.

Our deepest condolences go out to Wilson's family and friends during this difficult time. We extend our sympathies to all who were touched by his life and contributions to the sport of hockey. May he rest in peace.
