Former NHL Player Facing Major Prison Sentence After Assault
Former NHL player Mike Ribeiro, with over 1000 games under his belt, is currently on trial in Mount Vernon, Texas, facing charges involving allegations from three women related to a property sale.
The prosecution claims Ribeiro, currently listed in Fresno, CA., allegedly made inappropriate advances during boat and jetski outings with the women, who vehemently rejected his actions.
Testimonies, including a friend's damning description of Ribeiro as an "arrogant," unfolded in court.
The trial, marked by graphic details, began last week, with Ribeiro pleading not guilty. The atmosphere in the courtroom is described as "heavy," with no indication of the trial's duration or Ribeiro taking the stand.
