Trent Frederic was not happy with Matthew Tkachuk and called him out following their game last night after running away from an agreed upon fight.

Yesterday night was opening night for the Boston Bruins, taking on the Florida Panthers. Before the game started the Florida Panthers raised their 2024 championship banner from winning the Stanley Cup. The Panthers came out buzzing after their ceremony before the game and would end up lighting the lamp six times against the Boston Bruins.

Fans got involved early in the second period, and started chanting "we want Swayman", who was serving as the backup after missing all of training camp with the Boston Bruins due to contract negotiations. It was believed the Boston Bruins were going to start the regular season without Jeremy Swayman, but the Bruins shocked many when they announced the signing of Jeremy Swayman on Sunday, just two days before the regular season.

During the game, Trent Frederic went after Matthew Tkachuk, and after the game Frederic revealed that Matthew Tkachuk asked him if he wanted to drop the gloves, but ended up running away from it.

«I didn't know guys did that. A little disrespectful to the game,» said Frederic.

Just one game into the season, and Matthew Tkachuk is already in mid season form getting under the opponents skin.

The Boston Bruins look to bounce back, and get their first win of the year on Thursday when they take on the Montreal Canadiens.
