Jeremy Swayman and Johnny Gaudreau didn't have a lot in common, both of their teams had a short-term but lively rivalry before either player arrived in Columbus or Boston.

Neither were friends, but they have a connection through their shared Agent Lewis Gross.

During his contract signing with the Boston Bruins, he took a moment to step aside from the turmoil of his $66 Million contract, to make a statement about Johnny and how his passing has affected him.

He sent his condolences to the Gaudreau family who has been hit hard, with multiple losses when Johnny and Matthew were struck and killed by a drunk driver, on August 29th in rural, Salem, NJ.

Unfortunately, Johnny and Jeremy never built a friendship despite the shared connection because Swayman seems like a friendly guy.

Never arrogant, but always relaxed and about his business, especially when it comes to the game of hockey.

He used his platform to make sure he hadn't forgotten the Gaudreau's is a sign of class and camaraderie between the player and former Blue Jackets winger and his family.

The Boston Bruins are eager to have Swayman back, as much as he is ready to suit up and take the ice for the Bruins.

Jim Montgomery stated yesterday that the team's starting goalie could play tonight against the Florida Panthers.

But that has yet to be confirmed by the organization, or local Bruins reporters.

For now, it seems we'll wait and find out whether it'll be Joonas Korpisalo in the net or Swayman.

For my money, I would put it all on Swayman, even if he's a tad rusty.

Swayman's record in 2023-2024 was 25-10-8, with a 2.53 GAA, and a .916 save percentage.
