It's been reported that prior to arriving to the IIHF World Championships, that Pastrnak would need hip-surgery.
It's uncertain whether it'd be similar to what Patrick Kane had to undergo last season. But it could put him out of the lineup long-term for the Boston Bruins.
His hip issues had been plaguing him for the last 8 months prior to Pastrnak working with Professor Kolář, whom he credits for feeling the best he has in a while.
According to Kolář, Pastrnak doesn't need surgery, but when he answered he seemed uncertain regarding his long-term outlook.
This wouldn't be the first time he went through surgery for his hip, as in 2021 the injury put him out almost half a year, 5 months to be exact.
While what worked for Patrick Kane, could work well for Pastrnak but nothing is for sure. It certainly did help Kane return to form with the Red Wings this season.
There's nothing certain about Pastrnak's health for now, but while he trusts Professor Kolář, things could change when he arrives in Boston for the pre-season. The team Doctor could suggest he needs help, which could lead to terrible consequences for the Bruins.
This could ultimately put Pastrnak on the long-term injured reserve and give the Bruins cap relief, but also being without one of their best scorers? It's troubling.
