Insider makes major announcement involving Bruins goaltender Linus Ullmark
David Pagnotta a well known insider for the NHL made a major announcement involving Boston Bruins goaltender Linus Ullmark.
The past couple of years, the Bruins have had one of the best goalie tandems in the league with Jeremy Swayman and Linus Ullmark, but it seems like things are going to look different for them heading into next season.
There have been a lot of reports of changes coming out of Boston this off-season and one of the biggest ones is Linus Ullmark's time with the Bruins looks to be coming to an end.
Don Sweeney made it clear during the end of year press conference that his phone is going to ring and he is also going to make calls regarding Linus Ullmark, which basically confirms the Bruins are looking to trade Ullmark.
«We're going to explore opportunities,» Sweeney told reporters this week. «My phone's going to ring. I'm going to make calls. That's just what the job requires and at times, unfortunately, things start to leak out and that's your job. You guys do a hell of a job of figuring those things out, piecing them together.»
David Pagnotta reported that there are 5-6 teams that are showing or going to show interest in Linus Ullmark this off-season.
"The Los Angeles Kings, New Jersey Devils, Ottawa Senators and Carolina Hurricanes are among the teams that expressed interest in Ullmark during the season � we know the Kings and Sens pitched offers before the trade deadline � and I've got to think all four clubs will reach out this summer, if they haven't already. The Edmonton Oilers and Detroit Red Wings could reach out next month, too."
Really good goaltending is hard to come by nowadays, Linus Ullmark won the Vezina Trophy last year and could be a number one starter for any team.
He has one year left of his deal at $5 million which is a steal for any contending team, there are definitely going to be a lot of calls for Ullmark this off-season and Don Sweeney will do what is best for the Bruins heading forward.
