The Price the Boston Bruins will have to pay to acquire young star Martin Necas has been revealed to Don Sweeney.
Since rumours came out that Martin Necas more than likely won't get re-signed by the Carolina Hurricanes he has become one of the most sought-after wingers in free agency this year.
There is a lot of rumours involving multiple teams being interested in him, and the Boston Bruins are one of those teams.
It was rumoured that the Carolina Hurricanes wanted to trade for Linus Ullmark at the tread deadline and Elliotte Friedman wonders if Martin Necas was apart of the package heading back to Boston.
With new rumours about the Hurricanes not wanting to sign Necas, the Boston Bruins should be all in as they are looking for secondary scoring and Necas could bring exactly that to Boston.
Anothon DiMarco of The Fourth Period reported that Necas is looking for a long-term contract around $7-7.5 million.
«There is a lot of interest around the NHL in Martin Necas, but the Canes need to have a conversation with him and his agent first. Many clubs are curious. This could be an interesting scenario this summer. -David Pagnotta
«We'll discuss this more on TFP later today, but the general consensus from league sources is that Martin Necas will be in line for a 6-8 year contract at an annual salary of $7-7.5 million .»
-Anthony DiMarco
The Boston Bruins have the cap space to go out and give Necas this during free agency and should be a no doubter. At just 25 years old he scored 24 goals for the Hurricanes along with 53 points, but was also good in the playoffs scoring 4 goals, 9 points in 11 games.
There will be a lot of teams interested in him, but the culture the Boston Bruins have, who wouldn't want to go and play for them?
