A familiar face returns to Bruins practice
Patrice Bergeron has already missed two games, after being tripped into the boards after a collision with Sidney Crosby. There was no penalty called on the play, but Bergeron was clearly shaken up. He left the game and did not return.
In the days that followed Bruce Cassidy has mentioned Bergeron suffered a head injury, but refused to use the word concussion. Head injuries can always be tricky, but in a positive sign today at practice a familiar face emerged from the dressing room.
Wearing a burgundy practice jersey, Patrice took part in today's practice without contact. This is the first step towards Bergeron's return to the NHL lineup. After practice Cassidy did provide an update on Bergeron with a slightly more defined timeline.
According to Cassidy, Bergeron won't be available for Tuesdays trip to Broadway, but the team remains optimistic he'll return on this 4 game road trip, which takes the Bruins through the UBS Arena against the Islanders, before finishing off in Ottawa against the Senators once again.
