Another Boston Bruin will be joining teammates David Pastrnak and Jeremy Swayman in Finland for the 2022 IIHF World Championships.
Bruins goaltender Linus Ullmark has agreed to join Team Sweden for the remainder of the tournament.
The 28-year-old just finished his seventh NHL season, and it was a breakthrough season for him. It was a fifty-fifty split in games in the net with the rookie Swayman, who also arrived in Tampere to join Team USA earlier this week.
Ullmark had a record of 26-10-2 record and posted a .917 save percentage, a 2.45 goals-against-average and one shutout in 41 games.
The native of Lugnvik has never played in an IIHF tournament but was part of the roster at the 2014 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship.
Ullmark's first game of the tournament could be Saturday against his best-friend Swayman and Team USA. Could we see a goalie hug even if they're on opposing teams?
