27-year-old Jesper Froden is reportedly heading back to his home country of Sweden to play in the SHL, its top professional league. It was first reported Thursday morning by Dominic Tiano (@dominictiano) on Twitter of dom.hockey:
The undrafted right-winger signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Bruins on June 14th, 2021. This came just one year after being named the SHL Rookie of the Year while playing with Skellefte� AIK. He amassed 34 goals and 35 assists for 69 points in 101 games with the club.
The Swede spent the majority of his time in the AHL with the Providence Bruins. In 49 games played, he collected 16 goals and 18 assists for 34 points. He also suited up for the Boston Bruins for seven games, scoring his first NHL goal on April 15th, 2022, at TD Garden against the Ottawa Senators. In seven NHL games, he had just the one goal, ten shots and was a plus four.
