Another NHL Coach losses their job
Just a day after the Montreal Canadiens fired their head coach the Edmonton Oilers have followed suit. Today the Oilers announced that Dave Tippett has been removed as head coach of the team. Tippet was in the final year of a 3-year deal with the club.
The Oilers have been struggling since a hot start to the season and this firing felt almost inevitable. During his time in Edmonton the Oilers have been unable to get out of the 1st round under Tippett. This move could prove pivotal because if the Oilers miss the playoffs there is a very high probability that Connor McDavid will seek a trade out of Edmonton.
