Earlier this morning, Boston Bruin icon Bobby Orr tweeted from his personal account on Twitter (@RealBobbyOrr), some appreciation for his teammates that helped the Bruins win the Stanley Cup in 1972:
Orr was obviously one of the most significant pieces that helped the Bruins collect their second Stanley Cup in three years as he amassed 4 goals and 4 assists in the series and won the Conn Smythe Trophy for the second time. It was also his second Stanley Cup-clinching goal (after the famous flying goal). None of that made Orr forget who helped him achieve greatness, though, even the ones that have passed on since:

The Bruins would defeat the New York Rangers 4-2 in the best-of-seven to win their fifth Stanley Cup in franchise history and just two years after winning their last in 1970 over the St. Louis Blues.

Fun Facts:
- Phil Esposito had 41 shots in the series but was held without a goal.
-The Boston Bruins' name was misspelled as BQSTQN BRUINS with two "Q"s instead of "O"s. This error was corrected on the replica cup created in 199293.
-Every player whose name was engraved who won the Stanley Cup as a member of the Bruins in 1972 had already appeared on the Stanley Cup. This had previously occurred only once, in 1960, and has not occurred again since.
