After Jeremy Swayman went down with a lower-body injury on November 1st, third-stringer Keith Kinkaid was immediately called up from Providence in the AHL.
Although he only appeared in one game while back in the NHL, it appears as though he's been reassigned. As per Mark Divver of the New England Hockey Journal:
''Boston returns Keith Kinkaid to Providence, per AHL transactions. Providence adds Michael DiPietro, who'd been on loan to Abbotsford.'' Kinkaid was solid in his only appearance of the season. This past Saturday, the veteran stopped 30 of the 31 shots he faced in a 3-1 win. He'll go back down to the AHL with a 1.00 GAA and a .968 SV%.
This all but confirms that Swayman is returning from injury, or at least in a backup role. Jim Montgomery has shared that he's leading toward Linus Ullmark for Thursday's game.
