Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand have been the core of the Boston Bruins for a long time now, and several stats show why they're two of the greatest players to play in the NHL.

And there's a new stat that freelance writer Dan Kelley recently revealed on Twitter that makes the two look even better:

''There have been 27 players in NHL history with at least 250 goals, 250 assists and a plus/minus of +250.''

''Only 2 are still active.''

Of course, those two active players are Bergeron (408 G, 589 A, +264) and Marchand (356 G, 450 A, +266). The next closest active players:

Sidney Crosby - 524 G, 902 A, +197
Jonathan Toews - 364 G, 498 A, +179
Joe Pavelski - 430 G, 513 A, +159

The next closest player regarding plus/minus is defenseman Ryan McDonagh of the Nashville Predators, who is currently +217 but has 71 goals and 271 assists.

Bergeron and Marchand aren't the only Bruins that are among the 27 in NHL history, as the franchise's alumni are also well represented:

Bobby Orr - 264 G, 624 A, +574
Ray Bourque - 395 G, 1111 A, +493
Phil Esposito - 459 G, 553 A, +306
Wayne Cashman - 277 G, 516 A, +278
Ken Hodge - 289 G, 385 A, +264
