The Boston Bruins are off to one of, if not the best, starts in its 98-year franchise history with a 14-2-0 record.

The Bruins ranked first in the NHL with 28 points and a .875 points percentage, and two points ahead of the New Jersey Devils and Vegas Golden Knights.

Dom Luszczyszyn of The Athletic is one of the leading analytics experts covering hockey right now. His latest standings projections have the Bruins continuing their dominating start all season long.

As per Luszczyszyn:

''The projections are based on 50,000 simulations of the remainder of the season, which factors in each team's projected strength, current health, and their strength of schedule (which includes opponent strength, venue and rest). Each team's projected strength is based on the projected value of the players on its roster based on Game Score Valued Added (GSVA) and can be found at the bottom of the article, along with a link to team depth charts containing projected GSVA values for each player.''

Boston has the best odds of winning the Stanley Cup at 18% and over a 99% chance of making the playoffs with a projected 116.9 standings points on the season.
