The Boston Bruins have somewhat surprised everyone as they've come out of the gates hot, with a 6-1-0 start, when they were written off before the season even began.
Of course, it's still very early into the season (so anything can happen), but so far, the Bruins are red hot without star players Brad Marchand and Charlie McAvoy.
The team's early success is represented well in the latest addition of the NHL's ''Super 16'' Power Rankings:
Since last week, the Bruins surged up from 7th in the power rankings, and 15th from the start of the 2022-23 season.
As per NHL staff writer David Satriano:
''The Bruins defeated the Dallas Stars 3-1 on Tuesday and have won six of their first seven games. They have scored more than four goals per game, and already have eight players with at least two goals. New coach Jim Montgomery has them playing well defensively, evidenced by their plus-10 goal differential. And they've done this all without two of their best players in forward Brad Marchand and defenseman Charlie McAvoy, who are out after offseason surgeries. Boston could not have asked for a better start to the season.''
