The Boston Bruins made an announcement Friday afternoon involving all-star forward Brad Marchand.
It was released after the Bruins were eliminated from the playoffs that Marchand had suffered a hip injury at some point of the season, but all parties involved were unaware of the severity of it and if surgery was required.
However, the Bruins announced today that Marchand underwent surgery and released this statement:
"On May 27, Boston Bruins forward Brad Marchand underwent successful hip arthroscopy and labral repair on both hips. The procedure was done by Dr. Bryan Kelly at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, NY. Recovery time is approximately six months."
Marchand is expected to miss at least one or two months to start the 2022-23 NHL season. With Patrice Bergeron's decision looming, it's going to be a super interesting summer in Boston.
