Very sad news to pass along today, as Edmonton Oilers superfan Ben Stelter has passed away at the young age of 6.
Ben's dad, Mike, shared the devastating news on his Twitter (m_dan25) today:
He continued:
''You truly changed the world and did so much good in your short time here. Mom and I are so proud of you. You had a bigger heart than anyone we've ever met. Our hearts are left with a Ben sized hole in them and life will never be the same without you. We are absolutely crushed.''
'We love you our sweet Benny boy.''
The six-year-old was diagnosed with glioblastoma, a type of brain cancer, two months before his fifth birthday.
He underwent multiple surgeries to remove the tumour, thirty-five radiation sessions, and four rounds of chemotherapy.
Rest In Peace, Ben! The whole hockey world mourns!
