News broke late last night that the Boston Bruins and David Pastrnak were closing in on a max contract extension.

(More on that here)

The rumours were that Pasta was close to signing an eight-year, $88 million ($11 million AAV) contract to stay in Boston.

However, according to Steve Conroy of the Boston Herald, who reportedly spoke to Pastrnak's agent JP Barry, the rumours may not be true.

From agent JP Barry in Pastrnak negotiations: 'we are talking, too hard to say whether progress (has been made) or not but lots of dialogue from both sides.
Radio report was rubbish.''

It is concerning that no Bruins insider such as Fluto Shinzawa, Conor Ryan or Ty Anderson have even mentioned rumblings of a deal being close to done.

But Mark Allred of 'Black N Gold Productions'' did somewhat confirm he's heard the same about a possible deal.

I guess we'll all have to wait and see, as tomorrow could be a big day in several ways!
