We now know why one of the stranger trades in Bruins history happened.

On July 4th, 2013, Boston sent a 21-year-old Seguin, along with Rich Peverley and Ryan Button to Dallas. In exchange, the Bruins received Loui Eriksson and three prospects (Joe Morrow, Reilly Smith and Matt Fraser).

Thanks to a behind-the-scenes video, we have some footage of went happened in the Bruins ''War Room'' leading up to the trade.

At the end of the season, management held their meetings about free agency where then GM, Peter Chiarelli, was wanting to re-sign Nathan Horton. To do so, the Bruins would have to move out a player.

The consensus was that, although skilled, did the youngster fit into the culture that was built by guys like Zdeno Chara, Patrice Bergeron and David Krejci.

As Cam Neely states in the video, the team hasn't seen season to season improvement from the second overall pick.

Not only that, but the Bruins were not impressed with him immaturity. Tyler's dad Paul even touched on that. As per the Toronto Star:

''Him having a good time occasionally, and it being in the media, this was something that the Bruins thought should never happen.''

'Even if it happened once or twice or three times, the Bruins didn't like this happening even once.''
