Restricted free agent Jason Robertson has agreed to a contract extension with the Dallas Stars.
The two sides agreed to a deal late Wednesday night, and NHL insider Kevin Weekes was the first to report:
''**Breaking News** 🚨 📰
Dallas stars sign F Jason Robertson to a 4Yr Contract Extension 7.75M AAV. @espn @NHL @NHLNetwork @DraftKings
#HockeyTwitter''
The Stars' official Twitter all but confirmed it with this Tweet around the same time:
Robertson, 23, registered 41 goals and 38 assists for a total of 79 points during the 2021-22 season, setting new career-highs in each category. Dallas originally selected the Arcadia native in the third round (39th overall) at the 2017 NHL Draft.
Probably shorter term than the Stars would like, but at that value, it's still an absolute steal of a deal!
