Bruce Cassidy offers another update on Bergeron's health
Patrice Bergeron has already missed one game after falling into the boards Tuesday night against the Pittsburgh Penguins, thanks to Sidney Crosby.
The Bruins Captain was unavailable Thursday night against the Caroline Hurricanes, a game which the Bruins were dominated. With the final score ending up 6-0 in favour of the Canes.
After the loss in his post game press conference Bruce Cassidy provided both some bad and good news about our Captain.
According to Cassidy, Patrice Bergeron will not travel with the Bruins, on the trip to Ottawa for a Saturday matinee against the divisional rival. The Bruins are hopeful though that Bergeron will be available for one of the two games in New York next week. Either Tuesday against the Rangers or Thursday versus the Islanders.
The news is promising as it indicates a lower likelyhood that Bergeron suffered a concussion on the play, which would have added to a long history of previous head injuries.
Hopefully we will see the Captain back because the Bruins clearly miss him.
