Dealing with injuries to key players has been the theme of the Boston Bruins season and so far, they have done a great job adjusting on the fly.  However, now they will be with arguably their most important player in Patrice Bergeron.
The team announced earlier today that Bergeron is out for at least two weeks with a fractured right foot.  He will be reexamined by team doctors in two weeks and will go from there.
Riley Nash will jump up to center Brad Marchand and David Pastrnak in Bergeron's absence.  Newcomer Tommy Wingels will make his Bruins debut on the third in line in between Danton Heinen and David Backes.
Nick Holden and Brian Gionta will both be healthy scratches tonight.  Cassidy said that Holden will play "soon," but the team is set on the left side right now and they don't want him to play on his off side.
The Hurricanes enter play tonight five points out of the final Eastern Conference playoff spot.  General manager Ron Francis only made one minor deal yesterday, so he feels that this is the group to make a final push to the postseason.
Scott Darling, who has been a major bust in his first season with the Hurricanes, will get the start in goal tonight. The last time he was add the TD Garden in January, Darling gave up five goals on 28 shots in relief of Cam Ward after he was pulled for allowing goals on the first two shots he saw.
