The Boston Bruins are in a unique spot as they find themselves just one point out of the top spot in the Eastern Conference less than two weeks ahead of the NHL's February 26 trade deadline.

We have seen the Bruins connected to players like Ryan McDonagh, Mike Green and Rick Nash over the past few weeks, but it remains to be seen how big of a move Don Sweeney and company are willing to make.

Team president Cam Neely spoke about the team's possible deadline plans while meeting with the media before Tuesday night's game against the Calgary Flames.

"For me, it's going to boil down to what are the costs?" said Neely, per the Bruins official website. "We've got a good thing going, the players are playing extremely well, the coaching staff has done a great job. We've got some good prospects coming. But we recognize where we are right now, and if we can do something that makes sense and think it's gonna help our club, that doesn't cost us a fortune, we'll look at it."

That is the right attitude to have. After a couple of down seasons, the Bruins have restocked their system with plenty of good talent and they should not be in a hurry to trade some of it off for a couple of months of a rental player.
