We see this all the time. NHL players interact with fans during warmups but not usually when they're the visiting team.

Before the Boston Bruins game against the Ottawa Senators, Charlie Coyle made one B's fan's night at Canadian Tire Centre. The young fan had a checklist on her sign, and the last thing to do was to take a selfie with the Bruins forward.
