It's all systems go tonight as the Boston Bruins host the St. Louis Blues tonight for Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals.
Bruins head coach Bruce Cassidy will likely go with the winning formula from Game 6 which means veteran David Backes will be watching the game from the press box.
It's of course been quite the storyline for Backes who's never made it to the Stanley Cup Finals before.
Now 13 years into his NHL career he's made against his former team where he was captain and spent a decade there.
However he's been a healthy scratch for some of the playoffs which has to be a bit of a tough blow.
How is he able to digest it all?
"I'm trying to gather that myself. It's complex." Backes told The Athletic. Being the leader he is though, Backes will help do whatever it takes.
"Absolutely," he said. "We're all in for whatever's best for the team. That's the position we're in and we've got one game to win a Stanley Cup and that's where you want to be. Not being on the ice is tough, but I've got faith in our guys they'll get the job done and I'll be doing whatever I can to assist from an arm's length."
Hopefully he gets to raise the Stanley Cup!
