Elliotte Friedman just revealed some tragic details surrounding the death of former NHL player Stephen Peat.

It was reported by Elliotte Friedman, one of the most trusted insiders in the NHL that Stephen Peat, a former player for the Washington Capitals' cause of death was being hit by a car.

Peat 44, tragically passed away late last month after being struck by a car. Stephen Peat was a known enforcer in the NHL and played for the Washington Capitals.

Stephen Peat did not have the greatest life after the NHL, as he was homeless for periods of time and also suffered from severe concussions.

The Enforcer struggled to stay in the NHL, Peat played 4 seasons in the NHL, but never played a full 82 games in a season. During his career he would appear in 130 NHL games scoring 8 goals, two assists, but racked up 234 penalty minutes.

Around 4:15 am in Langley, British Columbia Stephen Peat was struck by a car, police reported that a 44-year old male had sustained life-threatening injuries, and ultimately would lead to Peat's death.

Elliotte Friedman did confirm this in a report.
