The Boston Bruins have some holes to fill in the roster this summer and not a lot of cap space to do it with.

Patrice Bergeron and David Krejci (who are still very valuable) are both most likely returning to the Bruins for next season.

Both veterans will potentially take less money on one year deals to make one more run at a Stanley Cup championship.

Another intriguing, and most likely cheap, forward option will hit the free agent market on Wednesday as well.

Former Bruin Danton Heinen was not tendered a qualifying offer from the Pittsburgh Penguins and will no long be an RFA.

Heinen was originally drafted by Boston in the fourth round (116th overall) at the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.

After four seasons and 220 games with the Bruins, he was traded to the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for Nick Ritchie on February 24th, 2020.

Heinen had his most productive season in the NHL with the Bruins back in 2017-18. In 77 games he recorded 16 goals and 31 assists for 47 points.
