The Bruins retired Willie O'Ree's jersey number 22 last January.
Boston retired O'Ree's number with a touching pregame ceremony prior to facing off against the Carolina Hurricanes back in January.
Unfortunately, because of Covid-19 restrictions, the 2018 Hall of Fame inductee was unable to attend the ceremony at the TD Garden.
Luckily for O'Ree, restrictions were lifted not long after and so he was able to make his way to the Bruins home rink to see his banner up in the rafters.
The Bruins camera crew managed to film the emotional scene:
You can tell how much the gesture meant to him. O'Ree, who broke the NHL's colour barrier back in 1958, has had a tremendous impact on the game, despite playing in only 45 career games.
