Boston Bruins fans are patiently waiting for the regular season to finally start. However, they're also keeping an eye on one player, in particular, David Pastrnak, who is still without a contract extension after this upcoming season.

Pastrnak has made it clear that he loves Boston and he's not too worried about getting a deal done, and trusted NHL insider Elliotte Friedman recently touched on that subject on the most recent episode of the '32 Thoughts'' podcast with Jeff Marek.

As per Friedman:

''That's a big one, and I think it's obviously a huge extension for a lot of reasons. One of the things I heard about Pastrnak is that he's not afraid to continue discussions into the season. I don't believe there's a hard deadline.''

'I think Pastrnak, from everything I've seen from this guy and heard and read about this guy. He has a real healthy balance about his life and his competitive nature, and where he is. I don't think he's the kind of guy to be bothered by it too much.''

'So, I've heard he won't be afraid of letting the conversations go into the season. The other thing is, just because someone says, I'm not going to talk during the year,' doesn't mean they will. It depends on the person.''

'From what I understand about Pastrnak is that he's not necessarily going to be afraid of having his agent hold discussions during the year.''

Take this update however you feel, but personally, it makes me think that Pasta wants to get a deal done and just isn't rushing things.

Like Friedman stated, Pastrnak has a good balance between work and personal life, and now that he's back in Boston for the hockey season, I wouldn't be surprised to see a deal get done.
