Kent Hughes, general manager of the Montreal Canadiens, announced yesterday that the club would be without goaltender Carey Price for the entire 2022-23 season. It's reported that Price's NHL career is also in jeopardy as he weighs the possibility of retirement.
ESPN hockey analyst and NHL insider Kevin Weekes reported Wednesday evening that there are potential NHL transactions on the horizon, specifically in the goaltending department.
Now, Weekes is reporting that some of the news is on Canadiens goaltender Jake Allen:
Allen, 32, is in the final year of a contract that pays him $2.875 million annually.
The Fredericton, New Brunswick native maintained a 3.30 goals-against-average and .905 save percentage in 35 games last season.
