All Bruins fans know that the team will be without some notable players to start the season, most notably top defenseman Charlie McAvoy, who quarterbacks the number one powerplay.
At the Bruins' latest practice, head coach Jim Montgomery featured a top powerplay unit with five forwards: Patrice Bergeron, David Pastrnak, Taylor Hall, Jake DeBrusk and David Krejci.
Obviously, it's still just preseason, and Montgomery's trying out any idea that he has to see what works and what doesn't. It's a breath of fresh air to see a coach that takes risks offensively, definitely something B's fans didn't often see with Bruce Cassidy.
Jeremy Swayman also loves breakaways and seems pretty good at them.
