The Los Angeles Kings acquired the rights to RFA forward Kevin Fiala earlier on Wednesday, but they weren't done there.
According to NHL insider Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet, the Kings also signed Fiala to a 7-year, $55.3 million contract with an AAV of $7.9 million.
The 25-year-old, Swiss native was acquired from the Wild in exchange for defense prospect Brock Faber and the 19th overall pick in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft.
Fiala had a career year with 33 goals and 52 assists in 82 games.
Was this an overpay by the Kings?
