This season, the Blackhawks have not been the healthiest team as they have dealt with several injuries to players that wear letters on their chest including Nick Foligno and Set Jones.

Maroon did not wear the C, but was given an A on his chest for his leadership role while Foligno was out with an illness. The Blackhawks did the same thing giving Maroon the A while Seth Jones was out with an injury for the past three weeks.
With Seth Jones returning to the Blackhawks roster right before the holiday break, the Blackhawks stripped Pat Maroon of his A and gave it back to Seth Jones.
Many fans have expressed their concerns about having Jones in the lineup, and him having a letter on his chest, and feel like the Blackhawks are a better team without him.
There are stats to prove that the Blackhawks are a better team without Seth Jones, as for the first time since 2022 the Blackhawks won three games in a row with Jones out of the lineup.
