Leafs fans making absurd excuses for Saturday's loss to the Bruins

The Bruins and Maple Leafs played what felt like a playoff game Saturday night at TD Garden.

With Boston coming away with a hard-fought 4-3 win over their longtime rivals, Toronto fans quickly turned to the excuses.

Most notably, stating that Linus Ullmark �'threw his stick'' at Mitch Marner prior to the Bruins first goal.

Now, let's look at the actual rule for those Leafs' fans reaching for excuses.

Rule #637 (a): Throwing Stick/Object

A minor penalty shall be assessed to any player on the ice who shoots or throws any portion of their stick or any other object in the direction of the puck or to a teammate.

Ullmark throws his stick into the corner away from Marner, who just misses an almost wide open net.

Sorry Leafs fans, but it's not a penalty!
