The Boston Bruins dominated the entire regular season and bolstered their team even more with deadline acquisitions. However, their fortunes changed in the playoffs, as they blew a 3-1 series lead to the Florida Panthers and were eliminated in seven games.

Following such a significant collapse, Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney is expected to make some changes. There are questions regarding the future of Patrice Bergeron and David Krejci, but Bergeron may be considering retirement based on his post-series demeanor.

In addition to Bergeron and Krejci, several other players, including Nick Foligno, Tyler Bertuzzi, Tomas Nosek, Dmitry Orlov, and Connor Clifton, will become unrestricted free agents in July. Furthermore, Trent Frederic, Jakub Lauko, and Jeremy Swayman are set to become restricted free agents.

An NHL source recently suggested that significant roster changes are on the horizon for the Bruins, given the number of unrestricted free agents they have and the little cap space available. Don Sweeney may need to make trades that he would prefer not to make in order to address the situation.

The Bruins could look drastically different then this year's team for better or worse but expect the Bruins to still be a Eastern Conference power house they just have too much talent.
