Mass. native Matt Boldy signs giant extension with Minnesota Wild

Earlier this morning, the Minnesota Wild announced that they have signed 21-year-old Matt Boldy to a substantial contract extension.
Minnesota Wild General Manager Bill Guerin today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has signed forward Matt Boldy to a seven-year, $49 million contract ($7 million average annual value) that goes through the 2029-30 season.
Boldy, 21, has 12 goals and 17 assists in 42 games with the Wild this season after an impressive rookie season of 39 points in 47 games last year. The Milford, Massachusetts native was selected 12th overall by Minnesota in the 2019 NHL Draft.
