The 21-year-old was drafted by Boston in the first round, 30th overall, of the 2019 NHL Entry Draft.

Johnny Beecher has been developing in the NCAA with the University of Michigan program for the past three seasons.

A 6'3'', 209-pound centerman, Beecher has played a crucial two-way role on a stacked Michigan squad that is being labeled as the favorite to win this year's national championship.

Like most big-bodied centermen his age, Beecher needed more time to adapt to his big frame and he's slowly progressed into a reesponsible player in all three zones.

Here are his highlights from last season:

As per the elite prospects website, scouts have rave reviews for the Bruins young star.

"Between his size and his balance, he likes to play in front of the opposing goaltender, where he can be near impossible to dislodge" - McKeen's Hockey, 2019

"He has a really good understanding of how to use his body to shield pucks and win battles on the boards" - Hockeyprospect.com, 2019

"Dynamic center who can skate, shoot and pass, he is good at reading the ice and recognizing where his teammates are" - Future Considerations, 2019

Boston fans will get to see Beecher in action beginning today, as the NCAA Frozen Four tournament kicks off in Boston's TD Garden!
