The 2022 Stanley Cup Playoffs have been the roughest that NHL fans have seen in recent memory.

The postseason is always more physical and rough, but this year has seen more fights and full-line scrums in almost every series already. The Calgary Flames and Dallas Stars combined for 60 penalty minutes, with two fights and two game misconducts in their game, one matchup that ended 1-0 in favour of the Flames.

The two teams didn't waste anytime in game two to get the rough stuff going, just over 40 seconds to be exact:

Flames forward Johnny Gaudreau skated in and shot a puck into the net after an offside call. The Saddledome in Calgary was so loud that Gaudreau didn't hear the whistle, but Dallas went after the all-star anyways.

Then Matthew Tkachuk took a run at Stars' defenseman John Klingberg, and the two exchanged pleasantries and were each given minor penalties for roughing.
