Back on April 11 of 2016, the Red Sox were getting ready for their home opener at Fenway Park against the Baltimore Orioles.
Before kicking off the season, baseball Hall of Famer David Ortiz had announced that it would be his final campaign in the big leagues.
Being that this day would mark Ortiz's final home opener in Boston, the Red Sox went all out to show some love for their longtime designated hitter.
They brought in a legend from every one of Boston's major sports teams to throw out first pitch alongside Ortiz. It was one of the coolest moments to witness.
The Bruins were represented by the one who's arguably been the face of the franchise ever since he threw on the spoked-B jersey in Bobby Orr. The Boston Celtics sent none other than 11-time NBA Champion Bill Russell, while the New England Patriots were represented by three-time Super Bowl winner Ty Law.
If your math is right, that's a combined 19 championship titles for Boston that was on the field throwing out first pitch (Russell - 11, Law - 3, Ortiz - 3, Orr - 2). Such legends in Beantown!
The funniest part of it all is that, by the looks of the video below, the angle seems to show Bobby Orr as the only one who managed to throw a strike with his first pitch. Check it out!
