Massive news regarding a veteran forward and a possible botched surgery from the team's medical team.

The Vancouver Canucks announced that forward Tanner Pearson will need a third hand surgery and will miss the remainder of the 2022-23 season.

According to the radio show Donnie and Dhali, there's no guarantee about the veteran's career either. As per Rick Dhaliwal:

'Here's what I know on Tanner Pearson. November 9th, he suffered a broken hand in Montreal and was supposed to be out four weeks and now it's six months and that's only if everything goes right it's six months. He had two setbacks. I was told last night some say Pearson has already had three to four surgeries already. He is not done with more work on the hand. Yes, it's possible more surgeries. There also seems to be an infection that is causing problems as well. Could it be career-threatening? We don't know that yet. But I'm told there is no guarantee that Tanner Pearson will be back next season. It is a significant injury.''

And now, the Canucks are reportedly investigating their own medical staff due to the mishandling of the entire situation.

GM Jim Rutherford shared the following:

''At that point, I just started to gather information and talk to people that are involved and start to do an investigation as to what really happened. Other than that, I can't say a whole lot because we're dealing with the privacy of medical information.''

'We take the situation very seriously. We certainly have to look at everything here when something like this happens, and we're going to continue to do that.''

The 30-year-old has 1 goal and 4 assists in 14 games this season after 34 points in 68 games last season.
